You are invited! Join us as Marlborough acknowledges World Refugee Day 2025 with a community event celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees in our region.
This year’s global theme, “Community as a Superpower,” reminds us that small acts of kindness, generosity, and solidarity make a big difference. Marlborough has welcomed over 261 former refugees since becoming a resettlement region in 2020. This event is a chance to reflect on that journey and reaffirm our shared commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and united community.
Come along to
• Share in food, music, and community spirit
• Celebrate different cultures
• Connect with local stories
• Honour the courage of those forced to flee their homelands
All are welcome – schools, community groups, whānau, organisations, families, and individuals. Your presence helps build understanding, belonging, and a stronger Marlborough for everyone.
This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate diversity, and build greater understanding through shared experiences.
Please share this invitation with your networks.
Let’s come together to celebrate, support, and stand in solidarity.
We look forward to seeing you there.
