On Tuesday 6th May, we held a successful and inspiring meeting with more than 25 attendees from different nationalities as: Myanmar, Malaysia, Chinese, Korean, Ukraine, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Switzerland, Germany, Zimbabwe among others. On this meeting new art projects and upcoming community exhibitions were revealed as below:
Art Workshops
Two-hour art workshops will be offered to migrant community groups, exploring personal stories through drawing, painting, collage, or a medium of their choice. Sessions can be held at the group's community centre or at the Marlborough Art Society studio.
Exhibition – "My Art, My Story"
Taking place from 30th August to 14th September, this exhibition will showcase artworks and stories from migrant participants. It is a collaboration between MMC, Marlborough Art Society, and Welcoming Communities. As part of Welcoming Week, it will include the "Carried Past" project led by Heritage Marlborough, featuring interviews and heritage items from five migrant volunteers. Flyers and entry forms are available from MMC, the Art Society, and Welcoming Communities.
