On Thursday, 25 September, the Marlborough Multicultural Centre (MMC) held its Annual General Meeting, marking a new chapter of growth and opportunity for the organisation.

The evening opened with a warm welcome from Chairperson Matilde Figuracion, who reflected on the year’s achievements and presented her Annual Report, complemented by the Impact Stories Report prepared by the MMC team. This report highlighted a vibrant year of services, activities, and community events delivered between July 2024 and June 2025, underscoring MMC’s commitment to fostering belonging and cultural diversity in Marlborough.

Treasurer Itzel Gonzalez then presented the 2024–2025 Financial Report before stepping down from her position on the Board. She was acknowledged with heartfelt thanks and a special token of appreciation for her dedication and valuable contribution over the past year. Secretary Anastasiia Shumkova, who was unable to attend the AGM, also resigned from the Board.

With two vacancies to fill, MMC was pleased to welcome two new nominees who had come forward in the month prior to the AGM. As five of the current Board members stood for re-election and were confirmed, there was no need for an election this year.

The new Board of Directors for 2025–2026 is:

• Deepti Shah
• Arman Hossain (new)
• Naz Chow (new)

Board roles will be formally assigned at the first Board meeting in October 2025, when members will also begin setting MMC’s strategic direction and key priorities for the next three years.
