As I enter my final week as Manager of the Marlborough Multicultural Centre, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of this chapter.

Although my time with the Centre has been relatively short, it has been a privilege to work alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, board members, community leaders, partners, and supporters who care deeply about creating a welcoming and connected Marlborough.

During my time here, I have seen the strength that comes from people of different cultures working together with a shared purpose. I have witnessed generosity, resilience, creativity, and a genuine commitment to supporting others. These experiences have reinforced my belief that diversity is one of our community's greatest strengths.

There have been many memorable moments, but one that stands out is our World Refugee Day celebration. Sharing delicious biryani, enjoying vibrant Colombian dance performances, and seeing people from so many backgrounds come together in friendship and celebration captured everything that makes this community special. It was a powerful reminder of the connections that can be built when people come together with openness and respect.

What I will miss most is the opportunity to meet people from so many cultures and hear the stories, experiences, and perspectives that make Marlborough's multicultural community so rich. Every conversation has been a chance to learn something new, and I am grateful for the trust and kindness that so many people have shown me.

I am proud to have contributed to the Centre during a period of change and growth, and I leave with confidence in its future. The work of building understanding, connection, and belonging remains as important as ever.

I would also like to warmly welcome Matilde Figuracion as the Centre's new Operations and Events Manager. I know she will bring her own strengths, ideas, and passion to the role, and I wish her every success as she leads the next chapter of the Marlborough Multicultural Centre's journey.

Thank you for your support, encouragement, and collaboration. I have learned a great deal from many of you and will carry those experiences with me.

I wish the Marlborough Multicultural Centre and everyone connected with it every success for the future.
